A Year Ago I Quit My Job

A Year Ago I Quit My Job

Today marks a year.

A year ago I said “I got this”

A year ago I asked myself “What’s the worst that could happen?”

A year ago I told myself “I believe in me”

A year ago I quit my job to go full time with photography.

To say it was a hard journey to make it this far would be an understatement. To describe this year as anything other than a blessing would be a dishonor. This has been nothing but an extremely humbling experience for me.

In only a years’ time I’ve done amazing things that were only a dream to me before: participated in an art gallery, co-hosted photowalks that’s connected hundreds of photographers + models + other creatives, worked with world renown models + brands been flown out by clients for shooting gigs + so much more.

If you asked me a year ago, never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be a full time photographer in the city of New York City.

I mean me? The self taught photographer from Florida with only a few years of shooting experience, working full time chasing his passion + goals in the city of dreams? Crazy.

This isn’t my first time on the entrepreneur journey but it’s definitely been the most rewarding thus far in life.

I’ve learned things about not only photography, but business, people, but most importantly, myself.

I’ve smiled, I’ve laughed, I’ve gotten frustrated+ I’m man enough to even admit that I’ve cried on more than one occasion.

But I wouldn’t change the journey thus far for a million dollars.

It’s made me wiser, hungrier, stronger + an overall better individual in general.

To all the people I’ve worked with both in front + behind the camera, anyone that’s ever showed love on social media, copped some of my merchandise, or just gave simple words of encouragement as I made this journey.

Thank you. For real.

But alright that’s enough for now, I really just never thought I would make it this far in life with just a camera + a dream. So I figured this called for some type of post. Anyways, thanks for the love everyone. More life, more everything. This only the beginning.

I pray we ball forever, amen.

P.S.

To any other photographer out there reading this that ever thought about shooting photography full time, trust + believe me when I say this sh*t crazy!

I was once as clueless if not more than you, but I’ve learned so much on this journey. So much that I thought it would be great for me to compile literally everything I know about the commercial photography game into one place.
